Seton Locksmith is a local business in Columbus, Ohio, and this website is ours. This page applies to the site itself and everything you send us through it, along with what you tell us by phone or in an email.

Information collected

The web form asks for your name, a phone number, an email address and a short note on the work, plus the address or ZIP code of the job if it has fields for them. Phone calls and emails give us whatever you choose to say or attach. The company hosting the site also logs basic technical facts for each page request: the IP address, browser, page and time. It does this for security and to keep the site online.

Chat conversations

Using the chat creates a record. It holds:

• your messages, including any name, phone or email you leave and what the job is
• the page where the chat was opened and the website that referred you to this website
• an approximate location, worked out from your internet address
• which device and browser you have
• a random code saved in your browser, which keeps your chats on the site apart from other people’s

Replies may come from an automated assistant; the service providers behind the chat read your messages to prepare them. The record is there to answer you, to arrange the work you ask about and to improve the chat.

Cookies

This site doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies. A strictly necessary cookie for security may be set by our host, and the host may also tally visits without using cookies at all. Those figures are anonymous totals of page views.

Disclosures

Your information goes through the systems of the providers that keep the site, our email and our request system working. When a service partner helps with your request or the job, they get the details needed for it. In addition, information may be released where the law demands it, or to protect anyone’s rights or safety.

Use of information

Information comes in so that we can respond to you and do the job you asked about, from setting it up to finishing it and checking later that all is well. It also serves three housekeeping purposes: our records as a business, the security of the site and our legal duties.

Safeguards

We guard information with reasonable measures. Still, no website, inbox or computer is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute safety.

Retention

How long we keep something depends on why we have it. Details tied to a request or a job are kept while they’re still needed for it, and as long as our records and the law require. After that they’re deleted.

Requests about your information

You’re entitled to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected and to have it deleted. Call (614) 705-0107 or email office@setonlocksmith.com to make a request. Before we act, we may need to make sure that you’re the person asking, and using any of these rights won’t change how we treat you.

Sale and sharing opt-out

Opting out: state privacy laws in some places give people the right to opt out when personal information is sold or shared. Those laws define what “sale” and “sharing” mean. To ask to opt out, follow the steps on the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.

Minors

No part of this website is directed to children younger than 13, and a young child’s information isn’t something we knowingly collect.

Changes

If anything here changes, the new text replaces this one and shows a new date at the top of the page.
